Welcome to the Pacific Gestalt Institute

PGI offers post-graduate, advanced clinical training to licensed psychotherapists, registered interns, or graduate students enrolled in a program that leads to licensed psychotherapy practice. Organizational consultants are also welcome. PGI does not offer accredited degrees or official credentials. PGI does offer a certification in competence in gestalt therapy. Our objective is to provide systematic training in contemporary relational gestalt therapy theory and practice through experiential and didactic learning modules. Instruction is offered by a faculty of certified gestalt therapists with considerable experience in training, teaching and supervising beginning through advanced level therapists.

Our particular approach to gestalt therapy continues to evolve, with more and more gestalt therapists from around the world contributing their own insights. Our training focuses on contemporary relational perspectives in gestalt therapy. We emphasize training in working with the nuances of emotional process, therapist-patient interaction, enduring relational themes, process of psychotherapy, and the use of experiments in a relational therapy. Relational gestalt therapy theory is taught systematically and is interwoven into the experiential parts of our programs.
